DAY PACK GUIDELINES

We ask that our girls carry a day pack with them around camp to keep them prepared.  Here is the list of what we suggest to keep in the pack:

Day pack with comfortable shoulder straps
An ideal day pack has a waist strap to keep weight even and not just on shoulders.
  • First Aid Kit (small), can make your own.  Be sure to have gloves for bleeding.
  • Flashlight & Extra Flashlight Batteries, Extra Bulb if that type.
  • Sunscreen
  • Bug Spray, Deep Woods
  • Sunglasses
  • Multi-tool or Pocket Knife, if certified w/ totin chit
  • Water Bottle (2 if possible)
  • Carabineers to attach items
  • Mess Kit (cup, utensils, plate)
  • Hat
  • 6' Rope & Paracord Bracelet
  • Whistle, may be on bracelet strap
  • Rainwear (jacket & pants preferred, poncho will do but legs get wet)

SIBLINGS ARE WELCOME AT THE CAMPOREE

We are happy to welcome any AHG siblings to the camporee, free of charge.  They will however, need their own chaperone.  Each troop is responsible for their own adult/girl/sibling ratios.  We are trying to develop some activities and games for them to do while our girls are doing their badgework.

REGISTRATION WILL BE UP AND RUNNING JANUARY 1st

SIGN UPS/REGISTRATION OPEN JANUARY 1
We have been hard at work on planning the upcoming camporee and are very excited about the activities we have planned.  We will be doing online registration this year starting January 1, 2014.  We also have a Sign Up Genius page where you can make sure that you are covering what you need to do to prepare for the campout to earn the badge which will be finalized by January 1st as well.  So if you have already signed up there, please check back after the 1st to make sure that nothing has changed.  Web addresses will be released on January 1st, so please keep your eyes open for them.

LOWER CAMPOREE COST
We have lowered the cost of the camporee to $10/girl or adult and siblings are free.  This covers the cost of camp facilities, firewood & activity supplies.  T-shirts will be extra and you will have options for ordering short sleeve, long sleeve, sweatshirt, hoodie or all of the above!  T-shirts will be able to be ordered on the registration website starting January 1st.
